Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of medical conditions. It is based on the principle that the well-being of an individual depends on the skeleton, muscles, ligaments and connective tissues functioning smoothly together.
Osteopaths use touch, physical manipulation, stretching and massage to increase the mobility of joints, to relieve muscle tension, to enhance the blood and nerve supply to tissues, and to help your body’s own healing mechanisms. They may also provide advice on posture and exercise to aid recovery, promote health and prevent symptoms recurring.

Please get in touch to discuss your complaint to see if we can help you.
Sessions are tailored to each individuals personal needs. We will carry out a full assessment before undergoing any treatment, in order to understand the factors that are contributing your aches and pains.
An after care plan will be discussed, ranging from exercise prescription, lifestyle advice and ongoing treatment. We are also able to make referrals if necessary for further investigations.
If you are a new patient to the clinic, then you will need to undergo an initial consultation. This session will last up to 1 hour. The session will involve a detailed case history taken, where questions regarding your current pain, your past medical history and any current medical information will be asked.
This will then be followed by an assessment in which the osteopath will assess your range of movement relating to the area of complaint and then perform some orthopedic testing. The case history and assessment stages will allow your osteopath to determine what the case of your complaint is. After the assessment your osteopath will then carry out treatment which will be individual to your needs.
Post treatment recommendations will be provided such as lifestyle advice and exercise prescription.
Follow up appointments are 45 minutes long. During this appointment your Osteopath will ask you some questions to gather whether the treatment plan from the initial consultation has had a positive impact on you, or whether this needs to be altered.
Your Osteopath will re assess to see if there are any changes noticed since the previous session, they will re test movement to assess if there is an improvement in pain levels and range and movement.
Treatment will then be carried out. If the Osteopath believes that your exercise prescription needs to be altered or added to they will do so at the end of your appointment. Further lifestyle advice may be given if the Osteopath deems useful.
